Sportin' the undies

I think Tyson is ready for potty training because he asks me to change his diaper right after he stinks up the place. So, yesterday I started potty training without any idea of how to do it, I just have heard of people potty training their kids in like 3 days, so my goal is to do it in a week, since I am an amateur. Well, the first day's tally is: 8 pair of wet potty pants and one #2 in the toilet. And that was all before naptime at 2:00! Then I put a diaper on him for his nap and the rest of the day because we were out running errands. I think I am going to need some serious help with this task. Any of you older and wiser mothers out there feel free to offer advice or helpful tips that you used. Nonetheless, I will continue the efforts today and I will let you know the tally.

Here is a picture of my "at risk of being overweight" son, sitting on his trike in front of the TV. Maybe the nurse was on the right track.?!

Here is Tanner crawling on the tile. In this picture he looks like a deer in the headlights. But he is so cute and so fun!

This is a picture of Tanner's first haircut. He had what I like to call a baby mullet, so I tried cutting it with scissors and it looked stupid so I got out the clippers and cut it. I was suprised at how much came off, but I think it turned out great!

Big Day

Well, the day we have been waiting for for 7 months has finally arrived. Anthony's hotel finally officially opened today. Anthony is really excited and I think he will do great as a manager. If any of you are in the area, stop by and he will give you a tour of the La Quinta. I think they will have a
Grand opening in March sometime. Hopefully, after things get running smoothly, I can have my husband back. He has been putting in 60+ hours a week trying to get the hotel ready to open.

Here is Tanner. He is getting so big. He sits up so well and is starting to get up on his knees. He is a fun little guy, except for when he is teething right now...he gets a little fussy.

These cars are the root of all Tyson's (and especially my) problems. He has to have the cars with him at all times, and he even has to sleep with them. If he sets one down and can't find it, he cries until we find it. Since he has more cars than he does hands, he always sticks one under his chin to carry it around. The red car isn't even his...it is his cousin Caleb's, and I think that is why it is his favorite. Somewhere, probably in nursery, he learned how to say, "mine" and now he says that car is "mine." Maybe, sometime soon they will all just disappear so he will quit whining all the time about his cars!!

Minor Mishaps

This past week we had a few minor mishaps: Tanner took his first dive off our bed. Luckily, when he hit his head on the nightstand it flipped him so he landed sitting up. He is perfectly okay. I got a hair cut, and the chic chopped my bangs so short that I was embarrassed to leave the house for a week. One more week and they might look presentable. Anthony's license expired on Tuesday, and he got pulled over on Thursday...he got off with a warning. And last, but not least, Tyson got a 12 hour bug and threw up all over in my car, on my couch, and in his bed. He feels fine now. So, nothing major. Things like this keep our lives interesting.

Picture Time

Tyson got so tired, he fell asleep standing against the couch!!

Can you see his two front bottom teeth?

Me and my friends at Cancun...I mean KanKun the restaurant.

Over The Holidays

As you can tell from my lack of posting, December was a busy month for me. Since before Thanksgiving, at least one, if not more, person in our house has been sick. Luckily, our prayers were answered and we were all healthy and well just in time for Christmas. We went to Beaver to be with family and had a great time. Here is a little update with us.
  • One of the highlights of my holiday is that I got together with my two best friends from high school. We figured it had been about two years since all three of us had been together at the same time.
  • Tanner was lucky enough to get his two front teeth for Christmas. He is such a cheeser, and at times can be a biter. Bottle feeding might be on the menu sooner than I had planned.
  • Tyson got a tricycle and he loves it. We forgot it at grandma's so he has to wait awhile to ride it.
  • I managed to fall down a flight of stairs without breaking any bones, but bruised my whole left arm and tailbone. I guess I am gettin clumsy in my old age.
  • I made a photo album of our wedding pictures for Anthony at mypublisher.com. It was so fun and turned out great.
  • We didn't get to play in any snow because it was too blasted cold. I had a hard time staying warm even inside the house.
  • Anthony is permanently in St. George with his job now. The opening date is.......TBA! We will let everyone know.

I just wanted to say Thanks to family and friends for blessing my life with such love. I feel so blessed this holiday season. I love you all.

My favorite things...

One of my favorite things around this time of year is the smell in the air. It must come from the snow or the cold weather, resulting in the smell of a cozy fireplace and food. However, with the snow and cold weather lacking now that we are in St. George, it doesn't smell like Christmas at all. That is why I had to go out and buy the infamous Christmas Eve candle from Salt City Candle Co. to help bring in some of the smell of Christmas. I don't think I have gone a Christmas without it since I discovered the wonderous scent. Another great discovery was our shatter-proof bulbs for our tree because Tyson has already thrown some down the stairs and on the tile and they don't break. This is great because they are the only decorations we have on our tree!!

O Christmas Tree

Here is a picture of our Christmas Tree. This year we had to use a fake one because we don't have a truck to haul a real one to St. George. It is beautiful but it lacks the character and smell of a real tree.
